Umerov suggests holding joint forum of defense industries of Ukraine, Baltic States

Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umarov met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis during his visit to Kyiv, the parties discussed the situation at the front, the press service reports.

“During the meeting, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Government and the people of Lithuania for the unwavering support of Ukraine, in particular for leadership in the mine action coalition. Umerov informed the minister about the current situation at the front, and also proposed to hold a joint forum of the defense industries of Ukraine and the Baltic states,” reads a message published on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense on Saturday.

Umerov noted that “representatives of governments, the military industry, as well as investors will be invited to participate in the forum, who must be convinced that these are successful investments that will have a high level of capitalization.”

For his part, the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said that Lithuania is interested in studying Ukraine’s military experience in the fight against the Russian aggressor, as well as in deepening cooperation in the field of advanced military technologies.

“We really appreciate that being in a state of war, you find opportunities to share your experience with us and offer your help to Lithuania. We will continue to train your soldiers, but we, in turn, need to train our generals,” Landsbergis stressed.
