President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, during which the parties discussed the current situation on the battlefield and the defense needs of Ukraine.
As reported on Zelenskyy’s Telegram channel, in particular, the discussion was about drones, artillery systems and shells, electronic warfare equipment and air defense systems, from portable to long-range ones.
“I am grateful for the creation of the Artillery Coalition by France and the United States, within the framework of which Paris will manufacture and transfer to Ukraine dozens of Caesar artillery systems, as well as shells for them,” the Ukrainian President wrote.
In addition, they discussed the preparation of a bilateral document on security guarantees within the framework of the G7 Vilnius Declaration. “The active preparation of bilateral security agreements by leading European countries demonstrates European leadership, motivates Ukrainian society and soldiers, and sends powerful signals to Russia regarding Europe?s continued support for Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
The President of Ukraine expressed sincere condolences to the families and friends of the French humanitarian workers who died from the Russian strike in Kherson region and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
