President of France Emmanuel Macron arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit on Wednesday, the Uzbek government’s press service said.
Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov met Macron at Samarkand International Airport, the press service said in a statement.
“Later today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will meet with Macron on Samarkand’s historic square of Registan,” it said.
The most important events making up the visit will take place on November 2, it said.
As reported earlier, the Uzbek and French leaders will talk about the further development of Uzbek-French multifaceted relations. Enhancing practical interaction in spheres such as trade, the economy, investment, culture and humanitarian affairs will be in the spotlight at the talks.
Mirziyoyev and Macron will also attend a joint business forum with the participation of the two countries’ companies and banking and financial institutions.
It is expected that a number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements and a package of trade and investment documents will be signed as part of the summit.
