USA hands over new package of assistance to Ukraine to record Russia’s crimes

The United States transferred a new package of technical assistance to investigative units to Ukraine, which included 66 vehicles, 250 drones, nine 3D terrestrial laser scanning systems with software and DNA laboratories, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

“Police officers have undergone appropriate training to prepare forensic specialists to work with such high-speed laboratories for installing DNA profiles. There are already successful cases of identifying persons killed in Russian missile strikes on our cities,” Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko said.

The minister said that the use of the transferred equipment will make it possible to accurately and quickly record all crimes in Russia. For example, laboratories for rapid identification of a human DNA profile ANDE 6C allow identifying a DNA profile in an hour and a half.

The transferred technical assistance will be sent primarily to front-line regions that are daily under enemy fire.

Klymenko and U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink also took part in the ceremony to hand over the aid package. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the United States has transferred more than $287 million in assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
