President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar discussed cooperation in the UN Security Council and the defense needs of Ukraine, the press service of the head of state said.
As reported on the official website of the President of Ukraine on Thursday evening, Zelenskyy, during a phone conversation with Pirc Musar, “congratulated Slovenia on the beginning of its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council and expressed hope for a strong voice of the Slovenian delegation in support of Ukraine.”
The interlocutors also discussed cooperation within the framework of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. Zelenskyy thanked for the participation of the Slovenian representative in the fourth meeting at the level of national security advisers and political advisers to state leaders in Davos. The head of state “invited Slovenia to be among the participants of the first Global Peace Summit, the preparations for which began in Switzerland.”
As reported, “the President of Ukraine also noted Slovenia’s accession to the Joint Declaration of the G7 countries adopted at the NATO Summit in Vilnius. The interlocutors discussed the start of work on a bilateral document on security commitments based on this declaration.”
Zelenskyy also informed Pirts Musar about the situation on the battlefield and outlined the current defense needs of Ukraine. Separately, the president thanked Ukraine for its previous defense and humanitarian support.
The head of the Ukrainian state also noted Slovenia’s participation in the creation of rehabilitation centers in Kharkiv and Zhytomyr region and in the reconstruction of a hospital in Izyim in Kharkiv region.
